With her latest CD, "Gloria," still hot two months after popping out of the oven, Gloria Trevi is in the early days of a months-long concert tour across the United States and her native Mexico.

"Every show has to be cathartic for the public," the star told Efe.

The tour began last week with performances in the northern Mexican cities of Durango and Torreon and will move on to Ensenada, Guadalajara, Cancun, Oaxaca, Nuevo Laredo, Cuernavaca Veracruz, Acapulco and Mexico City, where Trevi will appear Oct. 14 at the Auditorio Nacional.

The schedule, which is still being finalized, also includes dates in Las Vegas and Puerto Rico.

Though she has spent two decades in the limelight, Trevi admits she still struggles with stage fright before every show.

Once the current tour is over, Trevi aims to focus on her charitable foundation, "personal plans" and - maybe - creating a series for the Web.

The superstar's name has been mentioned in connection with a possible television reality show, but she expressed mixed feelings about such a venture.

"It's difficult because I really protect my family," Trevi said, adding that she is reluctant to expose her two young children to the rigors of fame.
